What this site knows about you

Very little. No cookies, no advertising trackers, one cookieless visit counter. What you type into the contact form reaches me, and it goes no further.

Who is responsible

Filippo Favaro, a designer in Venice, Italy, runs filippofavaro.design and is the data controller for it. For anything on this page, write to filippofavaro.design@gmail.com.

What is collected, and why

When you write to me — through the contact form or by email: your name, your email address, your company if you give it, the kind of help you picked and your message. I use them to reply and to discuss the work you asked about, nothing else. The basis is the steps you ask for before a possible contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
When you book a call — the booking happens on Cal.com, which collects your name, your email and anything you add to the booking, and passes them to me so the call can take place. Same basis.
Visit statistics — Umami counts page views, the page you arrived from, your browser, operating system, device type and country. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address: the address is used only to work out the country and to form a visitor hash that changes every month, so the counts cannot identify you. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, nothing is counted. The basis is my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read (art. 6(1)(f)).
Server logs — like any host, Netlify records technical data about each request, such as the IP address, browser, time and page, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legitimate interest again (art. 6(1)(f)).

What stays in your browser

Two small entries, neither of them a tracker, neither sent anywhere:

shift, in local storage — remembers whether you chose the day or the night shift.
booted, in session storage — stops the opening animation from replaying, and is gone when you close the tab.

Both are strictly technical, which is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.

Who else handles it

Netlify, Inc. (United States) — hosts the site and receives the contact form.
Umami Software, Inc. (United States; servers in the US and the EU) — visit statistics.
Cal.com, Inc. (United States) — call booking.
Google (Gmail) — the inbox your messages arrive in.

Some of this is processed in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, as each provider offers. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and no decision about you is made automatically.

How long it is kept

Messages and bookings — for as long as the conversation, or the work that follows it, needs them. Enquiries that lead nowhere are deleted within twelve months.
Statistics — kept as totals, which contain nothing that identifies you.
Server logs — kept by Netlify for a limited period under its own policy.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format (GDPR arts. 15–21). Write to filippofavaro.design@gmail.com and I will answer within a month.

If you think your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority where you live.
